Kepa Transport is wholly owned by the Cree communities of Chisasibi and Wemindji and results from the successful work accomplished by a team dedicated to the transport of goods and merchandise in one of the most challenging regions of the province: Northern Québec.

Kepa Transport was incorporated in November 1987 in order to offer general transport services to different communities along the James Bay coast and ensure a regular and dependable service to all of the Cree’s.

After completing a major overhaul, the company set its sights on developing a temperature-controlled transport service and has now become a specialist in this sector of the transport industry while, at the same time, continuing to offer general transport services. Jacques Legault & Sons Transport company , located near Amos, was acquired by and integrated within the Kepa Group in December 1998 in order to round out available services and allow for economies of scale.

In 2006 the Kepa Group acquired a company of B-Train and opens a new division, Eeyou Transport . For the Group this acquisition creates a synergy between the three entities and meets a need for our existing and future customers.

After many years of regional experience, Kepa has become the acknowledged leader in the trucking-transport industry with the ability to provide daily transport service in temperature-controlled, general truck-transport, flat bed and B train services between the Province of Quebec, Ontario, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, James Bay, and New Québec regions.

Kepa also offers its services to the Inuit communities in Nunavik as well as to the other provinces and territories of Canada.

The Operations Centre, located in Val-d’Or, contains the main administration offices, the transhipment centre equipped with up-to-date industrial freezer and refrigeration units, as well as a garage which is fully-equipped to maintain Kepa’s fleet of transport vehicles, thus ensuring top-notch service for our clients.
